Mark is a rising senior sophister Mathematics and Economics student who will serve as Chief Executive Officer for the 2020/21 session after returning to Trinity from a year on exchange at NYU in New York. In 2018/2019, Mark founded the Trinity SMF's Investment Conference and held the position of Sector Manager in the Energy Sector. Mark has also represented Trinity College at the Rotman International Trading Competition in Toronto and the CFA Equity Research Challenge. Mark has completed internships with Irish Life Investment Managers in their Alternative Strategies division, J.P. Morgan & Citi on their spring week programs and The Glenfarne Group, a private equity firm in New York. This summer, Mark will be joining Citi in their investment banking division. In his free time, Mark has a keen interest in canoeing and has represented the Irish team at several World and European championships.

Luke is a rising fourth-year Mathematics and Economics student at Trinity College Dublin. He is currently the Chief Investment Officer at the Trinity Student Managed Fund for the 2020/2021 session. Previously Luke held the position of Industrials Sector Manager and Industrials Analyst. Luke won the 2019 Davy Stock Pitch of the Year Award, and 2019 Davy Sector Pitch of the Year Award. Following this, Luke interned in Davy as an Investment Strategy Analyst for four months. Luke will be joining the Investment Banking Division at RBC Capital Markets in London for the summer of 2020. Outside of finance, Luke has a keen interest in rugby, football, and politics.

Michael is a Junior Sophister Management Science and Information Systems Studies (MSISS) student and joins the Fund as Chief Operating Officer for the 2020/21 session. Michael has previously held the roles of Head of Alternative Investments and Financial Banks Sector Manager. As Head of Alternative Investments, Michael organised the first Alternative Investments Conference in February 2020 as well as the first Fintech Conference in February 2019. He was part of the team that represented Trinity College at the Rotman International Trading Competition in Toronto in 2019. In first year, Michael interned in the McKinsey London office. He has also completed spring internships in the Alternatives Division at BlackRock and in the Investment Banking divisions of Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Citi. Over the summer, Michael completed an internship at the Private Equity firm Melior Equity Partners.

Shane is a 4th year student studying Business and Russian. He has been involved in the SMF since his first year in the university. He has previously held roles as a Junior Analyst and Senior Analyst in the consumer discretionary sector. He spent his 3rd year living and studying in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Shane has been heavily involved in other societies on campus such as Trinity Ents and Dubes, the business and economics society where he was the Public Relations Officer. Shane is keen to pursue a career in Sales and Marketing after he graduates in 2021. He has worked in a sales role for Avis-Budget Group since 2018. His interest in marketing began after he founded his own e-commerce business on Instagram where he worked with well-known brands such as Giorgio Armani and HostelWorld.

Laura is a final year Management Science and Information Systems Studies (MSISS) student and joins the fund as Chief Financial Officer for the 2020/2021 session. She has previously held analyst and Sector Manager roles in the Communications sector. Laura has completed an internship in the audit department at Deloitte and worked as a Solutions Consultant at Salesforce this summer. Laura has a keen interest in sports and plays for the college camogie team.

Ryan is a Junior Sophister Global Business student and is the Fund’s Chief Macroeconomist. He has previously held roles as an analyst and Sector Manager of Basic Materials and was a finalist in the 2019 Davy Pitching Competition. Ryan has interned at a Fixed Income Hedge Fund and managed a team of interns at a Venture Capital firm in addition to his background in Frontier and Emerging Markets. Ryan is a South African who loves Blackjack and climbing.

Investment Officer
Conor is a final year Business and Economics student who will be serving as an Investment Officer for the fund’s 2020/2021 session. He has previously served as the Sector Manager of the Consumer Staples Sector (2019/2020), a Senior Analyst in the Financials (Non-Banks) Sector (2018/2019), and a Junior Analyst in the Financials (Banks) Sector (2017/2018). Additionally, he was a semi-finalist in the Annual Davy Pitching Competition in 2018, and he captained the Trinity team for the 2020 CFA Equity Research Competition. He has extensive experience outside the fund as well, particularly in the field of real estate investment as a result of his internships in GVA Property Investments in 2018 and 2019, and he currently serves as the Auditor (President) of the DU Business and Economics Society.

He previously served as Sector Manager for both Technology (Hardware) & Technology (Software). During the summer, Oran will be interning within the Consulting department in PwC.

Aaron is a Junior Sophister economics student and joins the Fund as the Head of Research and Education for the 2020/21 year. In 2019/20, Aaron served as Chief Investment Officer of the fund where he was the first CIO in the history of the fund to outperform our benchmark. Previous to this, Aaron held the positions of Sector Manager of the Industrials sector and Junior Analyst in the Consumer Discretionary sector. He was on the winning Sector Pitch of the year team in 2019 and represented the University in the 2018/19 CFA Equity Research challenge. Aaron has completed internships on the equities desk of Davy Stockbrokers and in the Investment Banking department of AIB. Most recently, he completed a spring internship in the Investment Banking division of Goldman Sachs and will be joining the Leveraged Finance team in AIB this summer.

Sharon is a rising final year Integrated Computer Science student and will be serving as the Chief Technology Officer & Head of Publications for the fund's 2020/21 session. Sharon first joined the SMF in her 3rd year as an analyst in the Consumer Discretionary sector. After being awarded the Intel Women in Technology scholarship in her first year, she completed an internship with Intel as a Product Development Engineer. She has since gone on to intern with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt as a Software Engineer and most recently as a Business Analyst with AIG in their Technology Department. She has plans on pursuing a career in Product Management after graduation. Outside of university she enjoys making music, playing soccer, and watching documentaries.

He has experience in the startup space, previously being the Incubator Operations Manager for the Trinity Entrepreneurial Society, a participant on the Trinity Launchbox program, and an intern for the European Institute of Innovation and Technology Digital Health Validator program. Liam interned with the trading division of the Portland House Group this past summer.

Ranjana is a Junior Sophister Management Science and Information Systems Studies student. Previously in the SMF, she served as an analyst and sector manager of the Consumer Staples and Consumer Discretionary sectors respectively. She has also taken part in the CFA Research Challenge as part of the team representing the University. In the current session, she will take on the position of the Head of Women in Business (WIB). She is also involved with Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Spring Week Programme 2020. Outside of finance, she has an avid interest in ethnic cuisines and art.

Lucinda is a fourth-year Mathematics and Economics student and joins the committee for 2020/21 as the Head of Trading. She was previously a senior analyst in the Financials Sector and Head of Publications in the SMF. Lucinda has had previous experience interning in asset management and in sales and trading. She joined a boutique asset management firm in Boston for the summer of 2019 and is joining the Securities Division of Goldman Sachs for the summer of 2020.

Ali will be the inaugural Head of Postgraduates for the 2020/2021 session of the Student Managed Fund. Ali is currently in private practice as a Dentist/Dental Surgeon in Dublin and is a first year Executive MBA student. Ali has previously held the roles of Analyst in the Healthcare Division of the SMF & Chairman of the Postgraduate Subcommittee of the College Historical Society. Ali has previously completed an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Cambridge University Hospitals and a Paediatric Dental Residency at Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin. In 2019, he received Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons (MFDS) of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. Ali’s healthcare expertise also extends beyond clinical private practice; he has worked as a Global Team Leader and Healthcare Consultant with Accenture. He graduated in Dentistry/Dental Surgery from University College Cork. As well as serving as Chairman of the UCC Students’ Union Student Council, he received numerous university and national honours and awards in UCC. In his free time, Ali loves cricket, rugby, travelling and the arts. He currently plays for Dublin University Cricket Club and has yet to find a more idyllic place than College Park on a sunny day.
